In 2007, Washington Area Women’s Foundation re-launched its signature program – the Leadership Awards.  In November, eight outstanding organizations were selected as Leadership Awardees.

The Leadership Awards are a hands-on way for community members to play an active role in grantmaking. Community members search for and select nine nonprofits to receive $10,000 awards to improve the health and safety of women and girls, such as programs working on domestic violence, HIV/AIDS and human trafficking.

Additionally, there will be an extra $5,000 award for the finalist selected through an on-line voting competition!

Nominations are now closed for the 2007 Leadership Awards.  Information will be released in 2008 regarding the 2008 Leadership Awards process.
