You can use the search function below to find organizations by geographic area within the Washington metropolitan area, or organizations that specifically offer micro loans, individual loans, group/peer loans, technical assistance, training, marketing assistance, or matched savings accounts (IDAs). For example, if you are only interested in organizations that make small business loans, click the box next to “Micro loans” then press “Search.”

You can also browse the entire list of organizations with the contact information below and you can jump to an organization’s Web site by clicking on that link. We recommend that you review all the information we have compiled about each organization before visiting their Web site or contacting them. To view extended organizational information, click on the magnifying glass icon in the “View” column below (located at the far right side of the page).

When you click on the magnifying glass to view an organization’s extended information, that page gives you:

• the organization’s mission statement;
• comprehensive contact information;
• the geographic area they serve (DC, MD, VA, etc., or a particular neighborhood, ward, city, or county);
• whether they offer micro loans, training and technical assistance, insurance, tax, or legal help;
• whether they charge a fee for their services;
• the percentage of women and minorities they serve;
• whether they offer online help and support; and,
• whether they require collateral or check your credit history and how long loan origination takes (if the organization provides loans—some do not).

If you have a question about a particular organization or what services it provides, please contact that organization directly using the contact information provided.
