Washington Area Women’s Foundation Named One Of Washingtonian Magazine’s 50 Great Places To Work

Washington, D.C.  (April 18, 2019) – Washington Area Women’s Foundation proudly announces that it has been named one of Washingtonian’s 50 Great Places to Work. Companies selected for the honor will be featured in the May issue of the magazine, which will be on newsstands starting today.

“We’re thrilled to be honored among fellow companies and organizations who truly care about the work that they do and the people that do it,” said Jennifer Lockwood-Shabat, President and CEO, Washington Area Women’s Foundation. “This is a testament to the small but mighty team at The Women’s Foundation, who have been working tirelessly for women and girls across the Washington region the past 20 years.”

This year’s 50 winning workplaces were chosen on the basis of various measures, including: generous pay and benefits, interesting and meaningful work, great work/life balance, opportunities to learn and grow, commitment to charity and community, and the recognition and respect given to employees. Winners were chosen after editors reviewed nearly 200 companies and more than 7,500 employee surveys. The final determinations relied heavily on the scores given by a company’s employees.
